New Socks

New socks started Sunday. Following a chart for this one. Interesting.

Project Vest

It's done too!
Now to get the notes finished. It was finished Saturday night and really only took a few days work.

A New Handbag / Shoulder Bag

This is handspan from indigo and woad dyed British Milk Sheep.
I used a Romney handspun warp in a grey colour. 10 epi. 2/2 twill weave with 2" of tabby weave on each top end.
Tied on and wove yesterday & sewn today. It's all lined with 2 inside pockets.
I like it.

Project Pogress

I began in earnest last evening with knitting of the Sweet Afton Vest. The knitting is progressing as follows in the accompanying photo.
5mm bamboo circs. 4 sts & 5 rows/1"
It feels beautiful.

Project Plying

I spent the day plying... All of the single was rewound on many bobbins & the ply job completed in one day. I think it was 5+ hours of straight plying.
I will not measure it until tomorrow after work when it has dried from the finish washing & soaking.
It's been a long day.

Socks from 'ell are Done

Sorry to say I did not enjoy making these.
But... The recipient thinks they are perfect.
And that's all that matters.

Ready to Ply

This is the result of all that fluff. Border Leicester, Kid mohair and Tussah silk blend.
I tried spinning a sample worsted and seeing the knitted result. I didn't care for it so I did a sample spun over the fold. The result was more pleasing so it was spun in that manner.
The bobbins were all rewound. When I did that I could see all the inconsistencies in my spinning. I can't say it was a great pleasure to spin, but I want to see the finished project through to completion.
I'm sure when it's completed I will have a great sense of accomplishment.
Tomorrow I will do the plying; spinning from many bobbins will even out the inconsistencies & blend the colour in case my carding was not so good.
